Gave In

I gave in and bought some new shoes.

I don't understand how people wear shoes everyday. You know, non flip flop shoes. They are all restricting and like rub on your ankles and stuff. And you have to wear socks. I guess the good thing about that is that these should probably last me several years since they will only get about two months of use. I don't even know how long I had my Super Girl's, do you remember Britta? I know it's been longer than I've had any other pair of shoes. I'm lucky if I can get two years out of flip flops, usually only one. And you might think well at least flip flops are every where and they would be easy to find, but no, I'm pretty particular.

May you rest in peace Super Girls. You served me well. Although I don't know if I will ever have the heart to actually throw you out. You still look ok, but have way too many holes to be comfortable. Maybe I just need to get some back duct tape...

And for your listening pleasure: New Shoes

The Supergirls are awesome. Don't throw them out. Great idea to blog about it too. Who knew shoes are so interesting?

Wade, that comment seems a little factious. Or maybe I just read sarcasm into everything. Even when it's not intended.

I was not being facetious--though I can be from time to time. Actually, I really do love the shoes. And I am jealous that you blog about cool things like that. I can never think of anything to blog about anymore. And maybe, in like a million years, I would have thought to blog about my new shoes, but now you already have dibs on the idea so I'm screwed again. But one day, I AM going to find something interesting to blog about.

Everyone should blog about shoes. I do - frequently.

I think the Supergirl shoes are at least 3 years old - maybe 4? I know it was during my stint at the courthouse that you got them for me.

Mine probably need to be replaced too - they are completely cracked on the sides and torn - but I haven't found anything suitable yet.

And I don't understand how people can NOT want to wear fabulous shoes. My ankles would be very lonely without an occasional hug from Steve Madden.

I think Will's need to be naked is as intense as your need to never wear shoes. I like shoes, but at home I prefer to have bare feet. I actually started a blog post about new shoes, but then my camera lens won't open. I'll have to borrow dad's camera. Britta would be proud of my cute shoes. :)

Also, how hot is Paulo Nutini?!!!

Britta, I think they are older than that, I was thinking at least 5. I know I had them awhile before I got pregnant, so I know more than 4. Oh well. And yes Paulo is hot. In a pretty sort of way. Not a scruffy kind of way, which I prefer :)

Who is Paulo?

The guy singing the song.

No wonder that New Shoes song reminds me of you.

Umm, that singer has the same hair cut I do. Should I be self-conscience about that?

i seriously don't know why my grammar sucks so much lately! Self-conscience? or self-conscious? sheesh. do they mean the same thing? i'm all sortsa confused now. lol. oh well.

I guess it was time - I found some replacements yesterday at Burlington Coat Factory. They are just plain blue, with a Levis logo - but I like the way they look better than the Target Converse.

I'm not going to chuck the Supergirl shoes though - I need something for yardwork, or as Monte would call them, "knock-around" shoes.

P.S. Ella gets really excited when she hears that song - "new shoes, mom!"
