What the world needs now...

So I take a week off of work, and what do you know, I miss the opportunity to interact with a concerned citizen. Little background, last week this lady came into our office to meet with the director. She had this idea to save the world. Her plan was to recycle the flowers left on headstones at the city cemetery. All she needed from us was an office, staff, a dump truck, several other vehicles, etc.

Well I guess our department leaders were not in the mood to save the world by recycling dying flowers and so she was sent on her way. Well she was not going to take no for an answer. So she contacted the media and wanted them to meet her at the cemetery so she could explain how the city was keeping down her plans. I guess the media didn't feel the need to help save the world either. This story is what happened after that.

So if you think that all we do is recreate and play and do sports things in our office, just remember, sometimes we crush peoples dreams too.

That story gets better and better the more you find out about her.

I don't doubt she had a good idea. But what does one do with "recycled flowers?" Mulch? Potpourri?

Well supposedly she was going to give them to Habitat for Humanity and just general people in the community to enrich their lives. And this was somehow going to provide jobs and income for the city. Hmmm...

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I wish I could've been there!! She seems like a very pleasant woman. Too bad she has a "significant other" because she'd be perfect for Peter Jose Smith :). Their kids would be nuts!!

I meant to comment on your Pennsylvania posts too, so I'll just do that here :). There are so many trees out here huh?! It was really hard to get used to, but now we love all the shade. I loved all your pictures too. I'm trying to convince Scott that we need to go to Philadelphia, but since we've lived here 10 months and we just barely made the 2-hour trip to Boston on Saturday, I'm guessing it's going to be a while :). Oh and I think I'll try to save the world like that woman...everybody wants dead flowers, right?

Fantastic! "I'll get down once I've smoked my bowl." When faced with officers stepping in to a marital dispute after a day when she's threatened bombings, manslaughter, and suicide?! THAT is her response?! Ee-he-he-he-he-he-he. And just look at her picture! She's just happy to finally get some fame, isn't she?!
Wow.
My life is SO good when I compare things sometimes!

You have to have your priorities straight - smokin the bowl always comes first!
