I am NOT abandoning my blog today! Instead I'm going to play a little photo catch up from the last few weeks.
While waiting for kid exchange, a moon roof can be a cool place to hang
Paris in Vegas will probably be the closest I ever get
Last weekend Maiken, Britta and I all flew up to Boise for a quick visit with our Aunt Chris who is dying from cancer. Thanks to Britta we wanted to make sure we took the opportunity while she was visiting because you just never know when it will be your last visit. Even though she is the one that is sick she spoiled the three of us. We just spent lazy days lounging on couches talking. Exactly what we wanted. With occasional interruptions from the cats.
Boots made sure everything was ok outside by keeping watch on his perch by the window.
Chance kept hidden the first day, but much to the surprise of my aunt, decided we were ok enough to come out for a visit and even allowed some scratching.
Cancer sucks. And its a horrible awful thing to watch someone struggle with it. But you know what, it gave us a chance to say goodbye. And that's such a hard thing to do but I wouldn't trade that weekend away. I know I have friends who wish they'd had the opportunity to say goodbye. And I'm glad we didn't pass up that blessing.
Britta and the girls have gone home but we got a nice long visit from them. The day before they left we went up the canyon for a picnic. Attempts were made to get some good group shots of the kids. Sometimes the out takes are just as awesome if for nothing else, to showcase the kids personalities.
And someday I will learn that having them say something to try and break up the forced smiles, doesn't usually work out that well
And because it's still making me laugh

We have some funny kids!
It really was wonderful to see Chris. I appreciate Britta making it possible so we could all be there together!
The last photo is priceless! I love it! Glad to get to read your blog. You'll definitely one day be very, VERY glad to have gotten that precious time with your aunt.God bless her.
Great photos and nice to see your blog updated. Glad you got to spend some time with your aunt. I'm sure she enjoyed it as much as you did.
Great pictures - the one of Boots turned out great for all the trouble you had with the light.
