I finally took my new camera out of the box. My dad showed me enough to start playing and hooked me up with some accessories. Now I just need to find the time and energy to start clicking.

Your hair color is so different that you look like me in this picture. When it warms up and we are outside with the kids more we can take walks with the camera in tow.
yay! here's the trick (it's the only one, and it's the most important photography related tip you'll ever hear.)
step 1- get a nice, comfortable camera strap.*
step 2- make it a habit to _always_ take your camera with you, even if you feel like a jerk for the first little while.**
looking forward to seeing more pictures :)
*these ones are awesome- http://www.blackrapid.com/product/camera-strap/rs-4/ i made my own for with some scavenging and a couple dollars in parts. try a search for 'diy r-strap' on google.
**because how the hell are you supposed to take awesome pictures without a camera?
Thanks Will! My dad definitely told me the first thing I needed to get was a strap. That one looks really cool. Maybe I'll see what I can scrounge up. My friend Wade also told me to get a lens filter for it because it can get scratched really easily. And what do you know, my dad had one he had randomly picked up at D.I.
And yes Maiken, I'm feeling anxious for spring just to go wandering with it up the canyon
That's a cool self-portrait and the camera looks great. Can't wait for more photos!
I noticed your hair first too. :)
Can't wait to see pictures. I think I said this before but I'm jealous because mine is still an awesome camera so I can't really justify and upgrade.
YES!!!
